Terms of Service & Digital Policy

1. Agreement to Terms and License Grant

By downloading, installing, or accessing the Osmolangue browser extension or web interface, you enter into a binding agreement with Osmolangue. Osmolangue grants you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to use the assistive learning software solely for your individual educational language study.

2. Broadcaster and Platform Independence

Osmolangue is an independent study utility. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated in partnership with Crunchyroll, ARD, ZDF, France Télévisions, TF1, TV5MONDE, RTVE, or any other media broadcaster. Users are solely responsible for ensuring they possess lawful access, accounts, or subscriptions to any video streaming platforms they utilize.

3. Digital Goods & Technical Support Policy

Osmolangue is an independently developed digital service. Because access to cloud infrastructure, local parsing engines, and platform databases is provisioned immediately upon account activation:

  • Digital Access: All pass and subscription payments are generally non-refundable once digital access has been granted and utilized.
  • Technical Defects: If you experience a reproducible, fatal technical bug or streaming incompatibility that our developer cannot resolve within seven (7) business days, you may request a case-by-case review.
  • Evaluation Process: Contact founder@osmolangue.com with your registered email, proof of purchase, and diagnostic details (browser version, OS, affected broadcaster). We handle genuine technical hurdles fairly and directly.
  • Subscription Cancellation: Recurring subscriptions may be cancelled at any time prior to the next billing date via your account settings, with access remaining active until the conclusion of the current billing cycle.

4. Fair Use, Quotas, and Account Security

Users agree to interact with the service in good faith. You may not:

  • Distribute automated scripts, scraping spiders, or bot networks against our linguistic API endpoints.
  • Attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer, or circumvent authorization safeguards or quota limiters.
  • Share single-seat accounts across commercial organizations or third parties.

Violation of these standards may lead to temporary rate-limiting or permanent account suspension.

5. Platform Availability and Tier Variations

Osmolangue adapts its technical features based on browser platform capabilities:

  • Desktop Edge & Chrome: Full immersion suite including dual subtitles, click-to-lookup dictionary, and audio-assisted dialogue alignment.
  • Desktop Firefox: High-performance linguistic text mode, full interactive subtitles, and Study Room synchronization.
  • Mobile Firefox (Android): On-the-go subtitle viewing, responsive touch lexicon cards, and vocabulary syncing.

6. Lifetime Pass & Patron Tier Scope

The Early Bird Lifetime Pass and Patron tier grant perpetual, single-seat access to the Osmolangue Core Software Suite, encompassing:

  • The Osmolangue Browser Extension (all supported desktop and mobile browser distributions, including future broadcaster adapter updates).
  • The Osmolangue Android Mobile Application (APK / Web App).
  • The Osmolangue Study Room Web Platform (all current and future learning modules, spaced repetition decks, vocabulary libraries, and CEFR curriculum engines within the Study Room).

Exclusions & Transparency: The Lifetime Pass explicitly applies to the software suite defined above and does not extend to: (a) any future physical hardware, wearables, or peripheral devices; (b) new independent standalone software products developed outside the Osmolangue Core Suite; or (c) optional dedicated heavy third-party enterprise compute add-ons. All updates, enhancements, and new features developed for the Core Software Suite remain permanently accessible without recurring subscription fees.

7. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers

Osmolangue is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, Osmolangue disclaims all warranties of any kind regarding third-party video player updates, layout modifications, or broadcaster stream availability.
